I've been poking at this one story idea for a while. It's one of those doc files that's been sitting in my 'most likely abandoned' pile, for a while now. For some reason or another, I got the itch to open it yesterday and wrote another 10 pages on it. lol...
I'm so bad about that kind of crap...
I get these plot bunny ideas in my head and they just scamper around and around until I get them written down. When they're eating away at the back of my brain, I can't get anything written on my main stories, so I guess it's good for me to get them written out, even if they're story-starts that will never go anywhere.
I know it seems like they distract me from my main stories, but once I get them written down, I'm finally able to get back on my main stories, so it's sort of the opposite.
Anyway, the story-thing I spent yesterday evening writing on is almost to 30 pages right now. I think it's the longest I've ever gone on one of my pointless plot bunnies. Thing is that it's still eating away at the back of my brain, even now. The only reason I stopped last night was because it was 1am. ^^;;
I was poking at Halfbreed again the day before yesterday, but I only got a couple pages written.
I know what I want to do next with Curbed Rebellion, and where I want to end up -- it just the stuff between what's directly next, and where things will end, that I'm having a bit of a problem with. I'm afraid i'm going to run otu of steam on that story again and end up with another big lag. I hope not though. I'd like to actually get a story FINISHED for once - lol....
Long long ago, in a galaxy far far away, I used to write original fics. You know... back in middle school and highschool. So... a very long time ago. lol...
I was terrible about finishing things then, too. I had so many stories started and then just... never finished. I did actually get several short stories finished though - but that was primarily because I wrote them for classes. I took quite a few creative writing classes in highschool.
I think it was my 12th grade advanced creative writing class that killed a lot of my enthusiasm though. My teacher in that class was really into poetry and I am very much NOT into poetry. One quarter was dedicated to short story type stuff, and the other quarter was dedicated to poetry. blech.
Of course, after that I went to college and just had no freaking time to write anymore, and I hadn't actually even bothered to try since than, until I ended up getting sucked into the world of fanfiction. heh
Will you add that one to your started stories?
ReplyDeleteI hope you post that one up one fanficton! I would love to read it. :D
