The introduction post

My name is Athey and I'm 26 years old - 27 in August. This Wednesday will be my husband and I's 5th anniversary, but I've known him for 11 years.

We met when I was in 8th grade, and he was in 9th. We sat next to each other in a computer programming class and he used to show up to class early so he could quickly load up a program he'd written for me the previous day, onto my computer, so when I got there I'd just hit start and it'd run something cute/funny/or romantic. It was very very sweet. And I was insecure and afraid and broke up with him after 2 months of dating. He was my first boyfriend.

We hooked up again in 11th/12th grade and have been together ever since. We went to the same colleges and the week after graduation, we married.

In 2006 our daughter was born, her name is Kaya. She's turning 3 years old on May 22nd and she's all kinds of crazy-smart.

She has her own ipod touch and knows how to use it better then my mom. YES - We got our 2-year old an ipod touch. lol...

It's loaded with purchased noggin episodes from itunes, as well as the 'digital copy' of Wall-E and several other movies. That thing has been a LIFE SAVER so many times in resturants and other equally boring places with long waits.


In addition to Kaya, I'm pregnant once again. Currently sitting at 30 weeks, and we're expecting a boy.

He is constantly kicking the living crap out of me and it's getting REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE.


My husband and I both work in the video games industry.
We work for Sony Computer Entertainment, at the SonyBend dev studio in Oregon.

Our last published titled was Resistance Retribution for PSP.

I'm a general asset artist\Terrain Art\Character Rigger, and my husband, Justin, is the effects & technical artist for the studio. He makes things explode and enjoys it.


So in addition to having a 2-almost-3-year old, being pregnant with #2, and having a full-time job, I write and read fanfiction.

Oh, and if I can manage it, I play WoW with my husband once Kaya is in bed. I have a level 60 Shadow Priest as my main. :) Shadow priests are AWESOME. My 2nd highest character is a level 50-something Hunter I haven't played in ages.


So anyway, I thought I'd start a blog, since I'm always wanting to rant about various things or have some place for my thoughts on Twilight and Fanfiction to spill over onto, but had no place to do it.
